Artists work for free more than any other profession. Let's work together to change that. Ticket sales go to the professional poets who are booked to perform. The use of funds earned from this event will be transparent to the public.

Poets on Pearl is the most interactive street theatre poetry festival in Boulder (it might be the only).

Attendees will traverse Pearl St Mall to 5 staged areas for a day full of poetry readings hosted by the Boulder based organizations offering services and programs for literary artists. This free to the public performance will be led by an ensemble of local poets. Through moonlit alleyway readings and Black Friday poetry reprieves, this ensemble has worked hard to cultivate a common vision and understanding of the need for poetry.
We read poems under the full moon at midnight every month (even when it’s snowing), because in doing so we find a resource of which society is often bereft - a glimmer of humanness. A poem is evidence of the inner workings of a person’s mind; an expressive declaration of where their inspirations, perplexities, and curiosities dwell. This is your invitation into the depths and diversities present in the microsystem of a poetry reading.
